Follow the Money

Carlsbad’s Zingle just closed a $3 million Series A round from Rincon Ventures and Crosscut Ventures. Zingle offers messaging tools to businesses who communicate with consumers and has been most heavily used in the hospitality industries.  

 

The Future of Quartyard in Question

Quartyard, the container park at Park and Market downtown, has become a mainstay for the downtown crowd. It has also been home to many events in the startup community. But envisioned as a temporary park for the under-utilized lot, its days may be numbered. The city’s redevelopment arm, Civic San Diego, is set to sell the property to a developer who plans to put a high-rise residential building on the property. A petition has been started to convince the city to keep Quartyard.

 

Austin on Growth
