‘Cerf’s Up in San Diego’ is a series of roundtables to showcase San Diego’s Innovative Research and Technology.
The event features a keynote by Dr. Vint Cerf, “Discovering San Diego Innovation”
Dr. Vint Cerf, Chief Internet Evangelist at Google will deliver a public keynote to provide a summary of his San Diego Roundtables and a future Internet forecast. Learn about the role San Diego plays in future discoveries and who are the key players. Discover opportunities and initiatives to help connect the three billion people who don’t yet have access to the Internet. Learn about infrastructure development and the future of IoT. Worry about the threat of a Digital Dark Age as bits, media and software become dysfunctional.
A speaker at world-wide forums from TED Talks, SXSW, to IEEE, Dr. Cerf is known as one of the “Founding Fathers of the Internet,” because he co-designed the TCP/IP protocols and the architecture of the Internet. He is a recipient of numerous awards and commendations such as the US Presidential Medal of Freedom, US National Medal of Technology, and the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering. President Obama appointed him to the National Science Board in In 1994, People magazine identified him as one of the world’s “25 Most Intriguing People.”
