Improving CAR-T Therapy in Solid Tumors

GEN takes a look at recent research from Dr. Anjana Rao and Patrick Hogan at La Jolla Institute for Immunology into how to improve tumor-infiltration by CAR-T cells. CAR-T immunotherapy has shown results in leukemia and lymphoma, so called liquid tumors, but exhibits T-cell exhaustion when fighting solid tumors. This research suggests that inhibiting certain DNA binding proteins and transcription factors could improve CAR-T cell response in solid tumors, like melanomas.
