San Diego Mesa College’s $30 Million Beacon

New classrooms, computer labs, and a fashion design studio are up next in Mesa’s building boom

Students and professionals studying business, computer science and engineering, and fashion design at Mesa College will soon be doing so in a high-tech new building. Construction started on the $30-million structure in early summer, funded by the $1.5-billion propositions S and N construction bonds. A giant video display will anchor the entrance, while computer labs, classrooms, faculty offices, and a fashion design studio will fill the nearly 60,000-square-foot space.
